About The Presenters:
Robert A. Vitas, Ph.D., CAE, CFRE, Executive Director, American Academy of Periodontology Foundation
Robert A. Vitas, Ph.D., CAE, CFRE serves as Executive Director of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. He has worked in nonprofits and foundations most of his professional life, including directing Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children: The Foundation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Vitas was also regional training and development manager for Eastman Kodak’s photofinishing subsidiary, with responsibility for technical, production, and management training in the Northern United States and Canada. A Certified Association Executive and Certified Fund Raising Executive, he has served on several nonprofit boards. Dr. Vitas is Chairman of the Board of the Lithuanian Research and Studies Center and serves on AFP Chicago’s Education Council. He was President of the Dental Philanthropy Network, served on the Board of the Association Foundation Group and the Political Action Committee of the American Society of Association Executives.
He chaired the Association Forum of Chicagoland’s CAE Working Group, Professional Practices Committee, and Foundation & Development Shared Interest Group, and was a member of the Editorial Content Working Group and the Awards & Recognition Committee.
Dr. Vitas earned his Ph.D. in political science at Loyola University of Chicago and served as a Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University from 1995 until 2010. He has published four books and over two dozen scholarly articles, chapters, and reviews. He served as an enlisted man and commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve.
Evan Williams, CAE, IOM, Director of Professional Services and Resources, Appraisal Institute
Evan Williams, CAE, IOM, serves as Director of Professional Services and Resources for the Appraisal Institute (AI), a global professional association of real estate appraisers, with nearly 19,000 professionals in almost 60 countries throughout the world. Its mission is to advance professionalism and ethics, global standards, methodologies, and practices through the professional development of property economics worldwide.
Williams provides strategic direction and operational oversight of AI’s prestigious designation and candidate program, member continuing education requirements, component relations, member benefits, member admission and service, affinity programs, publication development and sales, AI’s two 501(c)3 organizations, AI’s leadership development conference, AI’s research library and support for multiple volunteer committees and project teams.
A Past Chair of the Association Forum Board of Directors, Williams has also served on the Forum’s Executive, Nominating, Finance and Audit Committees and has participated on many other Forum committees, task forces, work groups and project teams. He is currently a member of CAE Working Group.
Williams is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a graduate of the Institute of Organizational Management (IOM).
