About The Presenters:

 
Phil Lesser, Ph.D, CAE
Vice President, Bostrom 
 
In addition to having been the CEO of several national organizations, Phil has extensive experience with trade associations, professional societies, and credentialing bodies. He consults and trains in a variety of subjects, specializing in facilitation, strategic planning, volunteer and staff development, organization structure and bylaws. Phil concentrates in consulting support that enables organizations to learn how to adopt effective management practices and achieve organizational success.
 
Phil has been Chairman of the Association Forum of Chicagoland, Chairman of the Certified Association Executive [CAE] Commission of the American Society of Association Executives [ASAE], and ASAE’s CEO Advisory Board. He is a frequent contributor to professional publications and a popular presenter at educational events, as well as teaching strategic planning at The University of Chicago.
 
Educated at Washington University and the University of Chicago, he holds a PhD in Administration and Policy Development. In addition, he is a Certified Association Executive [CAE] awarded by the American Society of Association Executives and participated in the US Chamber of Commerce Institutes for Organization Management at the University of Notre Dame. 
 
 
Katie K Riggs, CAE, CMP

As a certified meeting professional and seasoned meeting and event planner, Katie Riggs, is known for more than simply planning amazing events. Joining Raybourn Group International (RGI) in 2008, Katie brought her skills attained through experience in tradeshow management, marketing, and promotions. After working exclusively with
The Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE) for just one year, Katie added to her career profile, VP, Client & Conference Services, where she now manages site selection, meeting contracting and business development for
the company in addition to planning logistics for a number of groups.  
 
Katie has grown her knowledge of the industry through her previous experiences with Klipsch Group Inc., where she was responsible for execution of multiple industry tradeshows, and at Venture Catering where she executed all special events. In addition to her work history, Katie has inspired future meeting planners through multiple speaking engagements to undergraduate students in the tourism conventions and event management program at IUPUI, her alma mater.
 
Most recently, Katie’s vast understanding of meetings led her to be the featured planner article, in Midwest Meetings Magazine. View full article here. Other honors include the 2012/13 Indiana Chapter of Meeting Professionals International Meeting Planner of the Year, Collinson Media’s 40 Under 40 for 2013, IUPUI Distinguished Alumni Award 2016 and Association Forum Forty Under 40 2016. In addition to the CMP designation earned in 2010 and years in the industry, Katie earned her CAE designation in 2014. Lifelong learning is one of the many reasons that Katie Riggs to take association meetings, conferences and tradeshows to the next level.
