The premise of this workshop is to constantly
ask yourself as a facilitator “what am I doing that the participants could be
doing.” We will be modeling that and asking the group to present the
ideas of the workshop by first examining the Adult Learning principle as a
group. Then, they will present those to the audience with some suggestions as
to how to reach it.
Each part of the workshop will involve the audience
in doing much of the work. We will look at the elements of training that cause
the most problems for the learners and will work towards ways to overcome those
obstacles. This is most suitable for those that conduct live face to face
training who would like to find ways to bring some fun and interactivity into
their training. We will work at challenging assumptions that we all make when
confronted with a problem. By the end of the half day workshop attendees will
have had the opportunity work together to really involve themselves as a learner.
- Evaluate the activities and presentations of
adult learning principles and suggest ways to better meet the needs of adult
- Challenge and evaluate different ways of looking
at and solving problems
- Apply the techniques shown to your learning
events and develop a plan to engage your own learners
