Joint Governance/Membership SIG - Volunteerism as a member engagement tool

When:  Oct 29, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM (CT)

Location: TBD
Fee: Complimentary with Membership
CAE Credit Hours: 1.5

The volunteer journey is one that can create a deep tie to the organization, and how we handle the volunteer process can be the difference between creating a raving or disheartened member.
In this session, we will discuss the stages of volunteerism:
  • Recruitment – How are you communicating volunteer opportunities and ensuring you’re finding the right people?
  • Onboarding – What information and tools do volunteers need to be successful?
  • Engagement—Are you creating meaningful work for them to help move the organization forward? And are they evaluating the experience?
  • Retention– How are you rolling off volunteers and creating ways for them to stay involved?
Participants will leave this session with an outline and ideas on how to handle each stage of the journey.
Bring a Guest

We know one is a lonely number. That’s why we invite you to bring a guest to a Shared Interest Group meeting. Not a member? No problem. Non-members can attend one complimentary event before becoming a member of Association Forum. Join others with shared interests and discuss issues, ideas and trends. All guests must pre-register themselves!
