Come prepared to hear and discuss the latest developments related to these tax code changes as the practitioners dive deeper into this new law of the land; while also learning more about the current issues, concerns and methods being employed to fight the ever present danger to our personal and corporate data via cybersecurity. Also, a quick update on the long anticipated GAAP changes (i.e., NFP financial reporting, revenue recognition and lease accounting) will be provided.
About the Presenters:
Rebekuh Eley, CPA, MST, Manager Director, BKD
Rebekuh is a leader in the not-for-profit practice of BKD’s Chicago
office and part of the tax exempt team. She has focused her career as a consultant on tax exempt organizations,
specializing in private foundations, public charities, hospitals, higher education institutions, trade associations, membership organizations and retirement plans. She also has a broad tax background encompassing corporate, partnership and individual tax technical knowledge and experience.
Jan Hertzberg, CIPP, CISA, Director, IT Risk Services, BKD
Jan has more than 30 years of experience providing IT audit, risk, cybersecurity
and privacy compliance services. This includes extensive experience in identifying and managing IT internal control risks and recommending solutions that apply cybersecurity and privacy frameworks (including COBIT, NIST, GAPP, ISO and AICPA Trust Principles) to implement leading practices and help clients meet compliance requirements. Prior to joining BKD, Jan held positions with Fortune 100 companies and, most recently, led the cybersecurity/privacy practice for an international public accounting firm, providing services to clients that included national and international companies in the health care, financial services, professional services, not-for-profit, higher education, retail and manufacturing industries.
