Membership 360: Year-round strategies to improve Membership Engagement and Strengthen Your Organization’s Value Proposition

Retaining your members isn't just in what you do the last few months of each year; every element of your association plays a role in why your members join and remain your members, or why they leave. This course will frame your Membership Strategies from a holistic perspective, and help you approach evaluating your programs and
communications from a Member Value perspective, while providing real-world examples you can take back with you.

  • Identify Member Needs and integrate calls to action into your communication workflow(s).
  • Identify additional resources to give insight into your Membership that can help inform your planning processes.
  • Effectively engage elements from across your association teams to have a more positive impact on Membership.
  • Develop strategies to support a holistic view of effective member service and year-round retention.

Matt Hessler, CAE, has spent over 10 years serving members of professional and trade associations, currently serving as  director of Member Engagement for the Emergency Nurses Association. He is a recipient of Association Forum’s Forty Under 40, an active Association Forum Volunteer and Presenter, and continually seeks new ways to innovate within association membership. Matt’s career in associations has spanned many industries, and those experiences inform his approach in serving dedicated members supporting their profession.
 
  
 
Mike Norbut, Vice President of Business Development at Association Management Center has a solid track record of successfully working with associations in a variety of areas, including member research, Board and staff facilitation, branding and marketing planning and execution, pricing and product development and dues restructuring. Mike is a frequent attendee and presenter at Association Forum events, and has served as the Chair of Association Forum's Editorial Working Group.

Mike began his career in journalism working for community newspapers in the Chicago area before becoming a reporter for a weekly newspaper of the American Medical Association. He then earned his MBA and moved to a health care consulting firm prior to joining McKinley’s team in 2008.
