Program Description: 
Meeting planners often say at times they can be overwhelmed by the audio visual process. Many just want to have a creative partner and technical expert that can help them easily make decisions and find impactful solutions. Relationships matter so let’s get off on the right foot!

In this SIG we’ll discuss:
-   RFP process - When in the process and how detailed should you get?
-   Perception of event costs & A/V language – Is it just me or are they just speaking Latin?
-   In-house a/v vsexternal a/v supplier – Don’t sign that contract just yet.
-   AV on a budget – What do you really need?
-   Best a/v approach – Manage your expectations. Know your budget. Quality in/Quality Out.
Attendees will:  
  • Understand better the RFP process and how detailed should you get
  • Have a better understanding about event costs, and a/v language
  • Know your rights about in-house a/v or using an outside production company
  • Suggestions to help you justify a/v costs to management
  • Hear advice from professional meeting experts about ways to raise the bar even in tight budget situations
Patty Coen is a seasoned meetings professional with over 25 years in the industry.  For over 19 years, she has been a Senior Consultant and Meeting Planner while managing her own independent meeting planning company entitled Great Chicago Events.  Her clients include corporations, associations and non-profits with meetings in international and domestic locations.  Patty completed her MBA in marketing and international business at the University of Notre Dame and holds both the CMM and CMP designations in the meetings industry.  
Liz Klosterman, CEM Senior Conference Manager as a senior conference manager with Meeting Expectations, Liz Klostermann handles exhibits and sponsorship sales and fulfillment, logistics, project management, and vendor coordination on multiple clients representing a variety of industries with a specific focus on corporate clients. Since joining Meeting Expectations in 2012, she has worked with a diverse range of clients such as, but not limited to, associations such as International Association of Insurance Professionals and the American Beekeeping Federation, and corporate clients Envestnet Inc., Lean Logistics, Arby’s Restaurant Group, and MedAssets. In September 2016 Liz earned her Certification in Exhibit Management (CEM) from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), completing a 3-year curriculum based certification process.
Prior to joining Meeting Expectations, Liz was with another event management company but got her start in the world of Chicago politics. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Journalism, specializing in Public Relations.  She has since called Chicago home for the last 15 years.
