Program Description:  Member expectations about what benefits can be provided to them are rapidly changing, requiring the organizations that serve them to create new technology operating models to stay competitive.  Robert Half Technology Staffing predicts that the need for skilled technology in the areas of mobile, security and data will continue to grow over the next few years.

The need to be nimble and leverage data has influenced organizations and led to the rise of titles such as chief digital officer, customer experience officer, or marketing technology officer.  The influence of these position over IT decisions is becoming greater leading CIOs to focus more on members and collaborate more with their business peers to create value for members and even drive revenue.  This session on The Changing Role of IT will explore the following three topics.

  • The current trends for talent in IT related to mobile, data, security and product development.
  • The shift of focus of IT and the CIO from infrastructure and IT projects to business goals and the member experience.
  • The collaboration of IT and the business and the technology mindset the business areas need to adopt.
