Mentoring for Member Engagement:

Debbie Trueblood, MSW, IOM, CAE
Executive Director, Illinois Park and Recreation Association
Debbie is currently the Executive Director of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association. She has formerly served as Executive Director for Illinois HomeCare Council (Interim), International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, Academy for Eating Disorders, Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine, and Society of Vertebrate Paleontology through two association management companies, The Center for Association Growth and Sherwood Group. She has been a lobbyist for Illinois HomeCare Council, National Private Duty Association, and American Osteopathic Association.
She is a 2007 graduate from the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) and became a Certified Association Executive in 2008. She has a Masters in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago and serves as a Trustee for her alma mater, MacMurray College. She was a Dunn Fellow with the Illinois Governor’s Office in 2001 and a 2004 graduate of the Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership. She was a recipient of the Association Forum’s 2014 “Forty Under Forty” award. She serves on the American Society of Association Executives Ethics Committee as Vice Chair. She has presented on this topic in Utah, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Missouri. She also presents on a variety of other association topics.
